My third book is here!

I am extremely excited to finally share my third book! Finally, because believe it or not, this has been written for >2 years!

This story is (also) one of my favorite that I have written. It follows two characters that met in Book 1 (White Chairs and a Cross): Jennifer and Emmanuel. Jennifer, we met as part of 228 Church, and we were first introduced to Emmanuel through her eyes. I won’t spoil that story if you have not read it yet, but let’s just say there may have been some red flags at the beginning of that relationship.

We got additional glimpses of them through Book 2 (Go For It) as they started their family and things seemed to be going well. Now we finally get the chance to bring all their hidden issues to the surface.

When trying to come up with a title for this book, I kept coming back to the image of a photographer focusing the lens of his camera before taking a picture. There is an intentionality in those motions as the photographer tries to capture the best photograph they can of their subject. But the word focus is a noun as well as a verb. While conceiving this story, it. became clear that things had gone awry in their focusing, as well as their focus. It was a great thrill to be able to tell Jennifer and Emmanuel’s story as they retraced their steps to figure out what is most important.
