A New Focus

She got married because she was pregnant. What sounded like the half-baked plot for a mediocre sitcom was actually Jennifer’s life. She hoped that she was making the best of the situation but most days, it did not feel that way. This was because Jennifer often found herself stumbling from one day to the next, wondering how to turn her mundane existence into one that she could enjoy.
Emmanuel liked to keep things simple. They had made the best out of a bad situation. Now, his beautiful wife and their healthy son provided the backdrop to a life filled with many career and ministry opportunities that he enjoyed and took advantage of. He tried to live life to the fullest, and the only thing he would change would be to impart even a fraction of his passion and enthusiasm for living to Jennifer.
When he is suddenly confronted with a loss that will potentially shake his very foundation, how will Emmanuel handle the hard task of adjusting his desires and expectations to map out a future that is so drastically different than the one he had imagined for most of his life? And if everything has to change, will Jennifer find a place in the new picture, when neither she nor Emmanuel have figured out her place in the current frame?
Go For It

(Now with a new cover!)
From the indifference that characterized their first acquaintanceship, Emeka and Tomi have come a long way as friends. There is no question in Emeka’s mind that he wants more, but the timing is completely wrong. He has to go abroad for at least a couple of years. And honestly, Tomi has too much going on in her own life, it seems, to be interested in any type of relationship, let alone a long distance one. The right woman at the wrong time. Does that make her the wrong woman?
Emeka has proven to Tomi that he is a trustworthy friend, and while she’s had a daydream or two envisioning them growing closer in a committed relationship, her regular waking thoughts are fully occupied. Her family demands more attention from her now than ever before, and she is also on a mission to advance in her career.
Tomi and Emeka are both on unique journeys, learning in new ways what it means to trust God. An unexpected, world-shattering event highlights the intricacies of their complicated friendship and forces them to ask tough questions about where their priorities lie. The way that they choose to answer these questions will determine what the future holds for Tomi and Emeka.
White Chairs and a Cross
‘Are you looking for more? If so, look no longer! We invite you to join us, starting next Sunday, in a new adventure.’
Mostly out of curiousity, dozens of young people respond to the invitation to join a new church. With uncertainty, they accept the challenge of the new experience. They allow others to come alongside them as they trudge forward in their faith journeys. This requires some transparency, some sacrifice, and some uncomfortable stretching. Mistakes are made. Decisions are judged. Beliefs are questioned. Convictions are tested. But the rewards? New lifelong relationships, accountability, growth and closer walks with the Lord.
The church is so much more than just a building; it is made up of imperfect people who serve a perfect God. This account follows 8 of the people who experience this truth together.
